A Stewartstown, Pennsylvania native, I have been designing and creating quilts and pillows for over 40 years. I got my artistic talent from my mom, inspirations for my designs from growing up on the family farm and my love of sewing from making doll clothes out of fabric feed sacks on my grandma's treadle sewing machine. I made the quilt shown on this page in memory of my grandmother. She was born in 1900 and passed away in 1994. In 2001, my friend Leslie Delp, who is a grief and loss counselor told me she believed some of the families who came to her would benefit from something tangible to hold onto while they are grieving. Designing and creating quilts for families will always be my first love. It is such a privilege to create "healing quilts" for the wonderful families who have endured the loss of someone they loved so deeply. My heart breaks each time I hear their stories, yet I am uplifted by their courage to give voice and expression to their experiences. I truly feel honored each time I am invited to create a special story quilt that will become someone's special keepsake to pass on to future generations. I know without a doubt that this is my mission on earth - to use my love and GOD given talent in "helping families heal one quilt at a time". I made this quilt in memory of my grandmother. Around the border is honeysuckle - it grew on the banks at the farm and in the four corners are geraniums - her favorite flower.
